They Took to the Streets
Posted by Katherine | November 5, 2008 – 3:18 pmGrant Park in Chicago, the official site of Obama’s victory rally, hosted an enormous crowd, but Obama supporters also took to the streets spontaneously all across the country.
Thirty-one-year-old Steve Goldenberg admits that he’s “completely addicted to taking pictures.” He lives in DC and was out last night mingling with the crowd outside the White House.

Philip Bump caught a moment of elation in Times Square in New York as the returns were coming in. [Update 6 Nov 2008: Philip just clarified that his wife, China Ziegenbein, took the photo.] (Thanks, Sue Salinger.)

One Response to “They Took to the Streets”
Thanks for posting my photo. It was an amazing night in Seattle and I would like to thank the Seattle Police Department for their professionalism and class in handling the situation. Their peaceful involvement ensured a positive experience for the participants, the city, and the rest of our newly optimistic country.
