A Whole Lot of Pie

Obama started talking about sweet-potato pie in his stump speeches earlier this month. It started as an anecdote about a Republican diner owner who is unhappy with the state of the country — and became a way of connecting with his audience. At a rally in West Philadelphia on October 11th, Obama said “pie” a whole lot. Chris Barrett, a young documentary producer, captured it on tape. (Thanks, Sarolta Cump.)
